COAT: YOURS       |        SHIRT DRESS: Cotton On      |      SHOES: Topshop       |       HAT: Vintage        |        GLASSES: Cotton On

This right here is my new baby! Everyone say hi, be kind and love it as if it were yours.  I said a little while ago that I would very much like to rob Jess of her Zara coat (somewhat with the same colour as this), but I know there would be tears and I’m sure she would put up a good fight to keep it.  So all in all, not worth it.

Also, you may have noticed I got my hands on a pair of these Topshop slip-ons I was raving about a week ago.  I haven’t taken them off since I bought them.  I’m wearing them right now in fact.

EXCITING NEWS: Le Boyfriend & I have started a small business, selling new and vintage international clothing brands.  I’m pretty much in love with everything and would like to keep it but he won’t let me.  So this is where it is exciting for you!  We have some amazing coats and jackets as well as some nice shirts for guys and ladies.  We are selling them here & will be at markets in Cape Town soon.  SHOP AWAY!

There is a pastel yellow beauty, in exactly the same style as this one on sale HERE.  Quick go get it!

Birkenstocks & Duffle bag

Trending this season is comfort.  And if you’re on the market for comfortable shoes, get your feet into a pair of Birkenstocks and there will be no going back.  I didn’t think there would be another as comfortable as the good old Converse All Stars, but look no further, we have a new entrance into the race of lifetimes friends of our feet.

When I first saw this sandal style coming up as a trend on some international sites, my first reaction was “surely not! I hated those when I was a kid, no wait, I hated them last year!”.  As I’m sure most of you would agree.

But, and yes there is a but, I’m still not sold, I’m in two minds about whether I can actually pull these off.  The idea that I’m even contemplating this has Sean & Christi in disbelief because they were at the butt-end of my many ” I won t walk with you if you wear that” rants.  But that’s very much contrary to what I’m like now.  And let’s be honest the fashion world as become a lot more forgiving.  You could pretty much wear anything and granted you would get some weird side-glances, but more of admiration than anything else.  The more daring the better.

Having said this, my fashion-do’s-and-don’t’s-brain still kicks in, and says “NO, YOU CAN’T!”.  Which makes me want to wear them even more, because I will always want to do what other people or even I say I can’t do.

So here goes nothing: Birkenstocks on the Taylor Made trend spy and must-have list.

I am in love with this duffle bag as well.  So that’s definitely added to the list.  This style is basically what I’ll be going for in Autumn.

Also, the Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen are rocking the Birks, and let’s not lie and say that doesn’t matter.  Well it at least matters to me, I love them, still!

CROP SWEATER: Cotton On       |       SKIRT: Vintage       |       BOOTS: Cotton On       |       HAT: Cotton On       |       LIPSTICK: MAC – Relentlessly Red       |       WATCH: Bamboo Revolution       |       RINGS: Famke

This is easily my favourite spot in Cape Town.  Not just for the beautiful gardens, idyllic landscapes and these giant cacti, but for the lovely greenhouse.  It inspires me to go home and plant up a storm, I’d very much like to cover every surface in our home with plants- mainly succulents, delicious monsters and cacti, but I’m sure the girls would have something to say about it.

One of my favourites, Meeka, organised a fun surprise little day trip for us last week.  We had fun road tripping to Stellenbosch, eating chocolate and singing along to John Mayer.  All the while me knowing nothing about where we were heading – she read my blog and saw that I had completed three out of four on my to do list and being the dear that she is she made sure we completed the list!

Also, if you haven’t been to Babylonstoren you need to get your delayed butt over there.  It’s well worth it!

TREND SPY: Slip on skaters

I spy a trend on the horizon, I’ve seen slip on skaters popping up on blogs, online shopping sites and Instagram.  Back in my primary school days when Avril Lavigne was actually skating and singing Skater Boy, I wanted a pair of the classic black & white checked Vans, but alas the mother wasn’t having a skater tomboy.  So I stuck with the cheaper verso of Spice Girl shoes, that in fact looked nothing like the originals.

But that’s beside the point,  sneaker wedges (I can thankfully say) are out and slip o skaters on in.  They’ve been spotted on the likes of my first girl crush, the Olsen twins, Paris Fashion Week street style and  designed by some great names like, Celine & Givenchy.  I have my eyes set on a lovely pair from Topshop.

I love my converse and am a sucker for comfortable shoes, as much as heels do something great for the legs, I’m a stickler for my well worn in Converse, but I’m very much leaning towards getting this pair, because a) they’re comfortable, b) they’re good to look at – and touch, c) I don’t need to lace them up.

I found myself calling these Kim K nails, because they remind me of the nude outfit I keep seeing her in on magazine covers.  Is that not just the perfect name?

Photographed by my favourite: Sean – Le Boyfriend

These are pretty much the items I’ve been reaching for or thinking of, every time I plan outfits.  If I could wear this everyday, without people giving me looks because they saw me in it the day before, I would do that.  So I’ve opted for every second day.  You think I’m kidding but I’m not!  Sean has mentioned several times that he loves this jersey, and with that, he says “we should get you another one”, I’m not sure if that’s because this one is THAT great or if he just wants to see me in anything other than this.

I picked up this jersey at Cotton On for R50!! (I thought that deserved two exclamation marks, I don’t take exclamation’s lightly).  Also, these leggings are not the regular type that is actually completely see-through when you bend over or even without stretching the fabric, these are the good kind.  The kind that is thicker than most jeans I own.  Solid black (no see-through bits), warm, and comfy, oh so comfy – I mean really who has time for tight pants in winter, when chill time is at its max and extra winter weight is no joke.

What are your winter staples?
